Introducing the IDRA II to Australia.

Aussie Golf Sims is excited to bring the IDRA II overhead launch monitor to the Australian market. Designed specifically for indoor golf simulation, the IDRA II uses an AI high-speed camera-based system with stereoscopic vision technology to capture detailed ball flight and club data from above the hitting area.

With no marked golf balls or reflective club markers required, you can simply use your own clubs and balls. The overhead installation also keeps the launch monitor completely away from the hitting area, while a generous 81cm Γ— 46cm hitting zone gives golfers plenty of room to address and play the ball naturally.

One of the features we're most excited about is GSPro integration. The IDRA II supports both GSPro and E6 Connect, making it an exciting option for golfers building a dedicated home or commercial golf simulator.

The IDRA II provides detailed ball flight and club information including ball speed, launch angle, spin, carry distance, club speed, club path, club face and smash factor. It is also designed to capture short-game and putting performance for a more complete indoor simulator experience.

  • AI high-speed camera-based overhead launch monitor

IDRA II FAQs

Everything you need to know about installing, connecting and using the GolfIn IDRA II in your golf simulator.

Does the IDRA II work with GSPro?
Yes. The IDRA II supports GSPro, making it a great option for golfers wanting an overhead launch monitor for a GSPro simulator setup. E6 Connect is also supported.
Does the IDRA II require marked golf balls?
No. The IDRA II does not require specially marked golf balls. You can use your own standard golf balls without adding markings for tracking.
Do I need reflective stickers or markers on my clubs?
No. Reflective club dots or markers are not required. The IDRA II is designed to track club data without requiring you to modify your clubs.
What ball data does the IDRA II measure?
The IDRA II provides a detailed range of ball flight information including Carry, Total Distance, Ball Direction, Ball Deviation, Ball Speed, Launch Angle, Peak Height, Descent Angle, Side Spin, Back Spin and Spin Axis.
What club data does the IDRA II measure?
Club measurements include Club Face to Target, Club Face to Path, Club Face Vertical Impact, Club Speed, Club Path and Smash Factor.
How large is the IDRA II hitting zone?
The IDRA II has a generous 81cm wide Γ— 46cm deep (32" Γ— 18") hitting zone. This provides plenty of room to position the ball naturally within the tracking area.
How high does the IDRA II need to be mounted?
GolfIn specifies a camera mounting height between approximately 2.51m and 3.05m (99"–120"). The correct ball-to-camera position also changes depending on the installation height, so the installation specifications should be checked when planning your simulator.
Where does the ball need to be positioned?
The correct ball position depends on the height of the IDRA II. GolfIn specifies a ball-to-camera position ranging from approximately 1.30m to 1.55m (51"–61") depending on camera height. Refer to the installation guide when positioning the unit.
Does the IDRA II work for both right and left-handed golfers?
The IDRA II is mounted overhead above the hitting area rather than beside the golf ball. This means there is no floor-mounted launch monitor that needs to be moved from one side of the hitting area to the other when changing golfers.
Can the IDRA II track putting and short-game shots?
Yes. GolfIn specifically designed the IDRA II to provide short-game and putting tracking alongside full-shot ball and club data, making it suitable for complete golf simulator play.
Does the IDRA II need to be calibrated?
Yes. The IDRA II requires calibration as part of the initial installation. GolfIn describes this as a one-time calibration, rather than something that needs to be completed before every session.
Does the IDRA II have a built-in light?
Yes. The IDRA II includes an integrated light designed to provide visibility across the hitting zone.
What comes with the IDRA II?
GolfIn's current technical documentation lists the IDRA II camera, calibration board and ceiling mounting hardware among the supplied components. Included accessories can vary by region, so the Australian package contents shown on this product page should be used as the final reference for your order.
What PC do I need for GSPro with the IDRA II?
GolfIn specifies an Intel i7 10th generation processor or newer with at least 16 logical processors, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 Series GPU or better, at least 512GB storage, two USB 3.0 ports and high-speed internet for GSPro. GolfIn recommends a higher specification for the best experience, including an RTX 40 Series GPU and 32GB RAM.
Can I use an AMD processor?
GolfIn's current IDRA II technical guide specifically states that AMD processors are not supported. We recommend following GolfIn's published PC requirements when selecting a simulator PC for the IDRA II.
Can I use a USB extension cable with the IDRA II?
GolfIn advises not to use a USB cable extension between the simulator PC and the IDRA II camera. Two USB 3.0 ports are required according to the current technical guide.
Does the IDRA II come with a warranty?
Yes. GolfIn provides a 2-year manufacturer warranty with the IDRA II.
