AGS Premium Impact Screen
Pro-Level Quality. Hacker-Friendly Price.
Why pay thousands for an impact screen when you can get premium performance without the premium price tag?
The AGS Premium Impact Screen is made from specialist fibre-bonded material designed to deliver excellent image clarity, low impact noise and durability for repeated golf simulator use.
Key Features
Made for Golf Simulators
Whether you're building your first home golf simulator or fitting out a commercial setup, the AGS Premium Impact Screen is made to handle regular use while maintaining a clean projection surface.
What's Included
4-Sided Grommet Tension
A simple and versatile impact screen configuration designed for simulator builds where the screen can be tensioned from all four sides.
Heavy-Duty Grommets
Heavy-duty grommets are fitted around all four sides of the impact screen, giving you secure fixing points across the entire perimeter.
4-Sided Tension
With fixing points along the top, bottom and both sides, the screen can be evenly tensioned in every direction to help maintain a clean and consistent projection surface.
Ball Bungees Included
Ball bungees are included with the screen, providing a flexible connection between the grommets and your frame while still allowing the screen to move and absorb impact.
Easy to Fine-Tune
Individual fixing points make it easy to adjust the tension around different areas of the screen, helping you find the right balance between a clean image and impact absorption.
White or High Contrast Grey
Both options use our premium fibre-bonded impact screen material. The difference comes down to the image characteristics you prefer in your simulator.
White
BRIGHT + VIBRANTWhite is the traditional choice for golf simulator impact screens and is well suited to setups where you want to maximise overall image brightness and colour vibrancy.
- ✓ Bright projected image
- ✓ Vibrant colour reproduction
- ✓ Traditional simulator appearance
- ✓ Well suited to controlled lighting
High Contrast Grey
CONTRAST + DEPTHHigh Contrast Grey offers a different projection characteristic, with stronger perceived black levels and contrast for golfers who prefer a deeper-looking image.
- ✓ Stronger perceived contrast
- ✓ Deeper-looking black levels
- ✓ Added visual depth
- ✓ Alternative premium screen finish
There isn't a right or wrong option. Choose White if you prefer a brighter, more traditional simulator image, or choose High Contrast Grey if you prefer stronger perceived contrast and deeper-looking dark areas.
AGS Premium Impact Screen FAQs
Everything you need to know about sizing, installation, tension, projection quality and looking after your AGS Premium Impact Screen.
How do I know what size impact screen to order?
Your impact screen will generally need to be smaller than the opening it is being installed into to leave enough room for the screen to be correctly tensioned.
The exact allowance depends on your frame, fixing method, screen configuration and how you plan to tension it, so there isn't one measurement that works for every golf simulator build.
Not sure what size to order? Get in touch with us before ordering and send through your opening dimensions and a few details about your setup. We'll help recommend the right screen size for your build.
What's the difference between Standard and Sleeve Tension + Velcro?
Our Standard impact screen has heavy-duty grommets on all four sides and is best suited to setups where the screen can be tensioned around the entire perimeter.
Sleeve Tension + Velcro uses heavy-duty grommets across the top and sides, Velcro along the grommet line and a sleeve across the bottom with a bungee cord pre-threaded through it.
The bottom sleeve allows the screen to be tensioned from each side without visible bottom grommets, helping create a much cleaner ceiling-to-floor image. The Velcro also allows compatible impact padding to attach directly to the screen.
What is the Velcro on the Sleeve Tension + Velcro screen for?
The Velcro runs along the top and side grommet lines and allows compatible impact padding to attach directly to the screen.
Our impact screen side stripes attach to this Velcro to hide the grommets and help cover the gap between your impact screen and simulator frame, creating a much cleaner finished look.
How does the bottom tension sleeve work?
Instead of using visible grommets and individual ball bungees along the bottom edge, a continuous bungee cord comes pre-threaded through a sleeve built into the bottom of the screen.
The bungee is secured at each side to tension the lower edge. It still allows the screen to move backwards when struck and then helps pull the screen back into position after each shot, helping prevent sag.
It also removes visible fixing points along the bottom edge, giving you a cleaner ceiling-to-floor projected image.
How tight should my golf simulator impact screen be?
Your impact screen should be tensioned enough to remove excessive sag and provide a clean projection surface, but it should not be pulled completely rigid.
The screen needs some movement when the golf ball strikes it so the material can absorb the impact. Too much tension can increase bounce-back, while too little tension can cause sag and affect image quality.
Start with even tension around the screen and make small adjustments until you find the right balance between a clean image and good impact absorption.
How much space should I leave behind my impact screen?
We recommend an absolute minimum of 300mm clearance between the impact screen and the wall or any hard surface behind it.
The screen needs room to move backwards when struck so it can properly absorb the energy of the golf ball. If the screen contacts a wall or another hard surface during impact, it can increase bounce-back and potentially cause unnecessary wear.
Where your room allows, we recommend leaving more than 300mm for additional clearance and peace of mind.
How far should I stand from the impact screen?
For most home golf simulator setups, we generally recommend a hitting position of around 3 metres from the impact screen where the room allows.
Your exact hitting position will depend on your room dimensions, ceiling height, launch monitor requirements and the golfer. The priority should always be having enough room to make a full, unrestricted swing safely.
Can I hit driver into the AGS Premium Impact Screen?
Yes. The AGS Premium Impact Screen is designed for full golf simulator use, including driver.
Correct installation is important. The screen needs appropriate tension and sufficient clearance behind it so the material can move backwards and absorb the impact of higher ball speeds.
Is the AGS Premium Impact Screen suitable for HD and 4K projectors?
Yes. The specialist fibre-bonded material provides a high-quality projection surface suitable for both HD and 4K golf simulator setups.
Keep in mind that your final image quality will also depend on your projector resolution and brightness, image size, room lighting, simulator software and PC.
How quiet is the AGS Premium Impact Screen?
Our specialist fibre-bonded screen material is designed to absorb impact and reduce the harsh impact noise associated with thinner or lower-quality screen materials.
The final sound level will also depend on factors such as screen tension, ball speed, room acoustics and the construction of your golf simulator.
Will my new impact screen have creases or wrinkles?
Some fold lines or creases when your screen first arrives are normal. Impact screens are large pieces of material and need to be folded for transport.
Once the screen is installed and evenly tensioned, its own weight, regular use and time will help the material settle and the folds become less noticeable.
Avoid excessively tightening the screen simply to remove shipping creases.
How do I look after my impact screen?
One of the easiest ways to extend the life of your impact screen is to make sure only clean golf balls and clean clubs are being used.
- Use clean golf balls.
- Avoid balls with cuts, cracks or heavy scuffing.
- Avoid heavily marked balls where ink may transfer to the screen.
- Keep dirt and sand out of your club grooves.
- Don't over-tension the impact screen.
- Where possible, avoid concentrating every shot into exactly the same small area.
Scuffed golf balls and dirt or sand on club faces can increase abrasion and leave marks on the projection surface.
How long will an impact screen last?
There isn't a fixed number of shots or years that applies to every impact screen because the amount of wear depends heavily on how the simulator is used.
Ball speed, frequency of use, screen tension, hitting position, the condition of your golf balls and clubs, and how concentrated your impact area is will all affect screen life.
A home simulator used a few times per week will naturally place very different demands on a screen compared with a commercial simulator taking shots throughout the day.
Does the AGS Premium Impact Screen come with ball bungees?
Yes. Our standard AGS Premium Impact Screens come with ball bungees for installation.
If you select the Sleeve Tension + Velcro configuration, the bottom sleeve also comes with its bungee cord pre-threaded and ready to tension from each side.
Can I order a custom-size impact screen?
Yes. We offer custom AGS Premium Impact Screens for golf simulator builds that don't suit one of our standard sizes.
Because the correct finished screen size depends on your opening, frame and tensioning method, we recommend getting in touch with us before placing a custom order.
Send us your opening dimensions and some information about your setup and we'll help work out the appropriate impact screen size for your build.
