You get 6000 lumens of laser brightness, full 4K detail and a built-in AI processor tuned specifically for golf software, all in a short throw package that mounts overhead and clear of your swing.

Picture quality you'll notice on every shot

The AK900ST puts 8.3 million addressable pixels on your screen, so fairways, bunkers and green breaks look sharp instead of smoothed over. BenQ's AI Sim Sense processing takes the standard SDR output from your launch monitor software and lifts it with enhanced contrast, 4K upscaling and noise reduction, which cleans up the shimmer you often see on grass and distant trees. Golf Mode 2.0 and the HDR Golf picture mode are tuned for natural course colours, backed by Rec. 709 colour accuracy and a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

Setup that does the hard work for you

Auto Screen Fit 2.0: the built-in camera reads your impact screen's shape and size, flat or curved, and aligns the image in seconds. Smart Warping then makes fine-tuning a curved screen quick and painless.

4-way lens shift: ±60% vertical and ±23% horizontal, so you can mount it high, low or off-centre without losing image quality to digital correction.

Motorised zoom and autofocus: dial everything in from the remote. No ladder required.

Six native aspect ratios: 16:9, 16:10, 3:2, 4:3, 5:4 and 1:1, so the image fills your screen properly with no stretching or black bars.

Ambient light compensation: the camera monitors your room and adjusts colour and saturation to suit.

Short throw, no shadows

With a 0.81 to 0.89 throw ratio, a 3m wide image needs the projector roughly 2.4 to 2.7m from the screen. That means it can sit overhead near the hitting area instead of behind you, keeping your shadow off the screen. BenQ's free Golf-Sim 3D Planner can help you nail the exact mounting position for your room.

Built for commercial use

The AK900ST is rated for 24/7 operation with a dust-sealed laser light source, so there are no lamps to replace and no burn-in to worry about. It draws around 350W and supports remote device management, making it a solid pick for sim centres, venues and multi-bay setups as well as high-end home builds.

Golf by day, movies by night

When the clubs go away it's a proper home cinema projector too, with 24p and HDR10/HLG support, MEMC motion smoothing for sport and Auto Low Latency Mode for gaming. Scene Memory saves up to five complete profiles (picture mode, zoom, focus, geometry, audio and input), so switching from golf to a movie takes one button.

Key specs

Resolution: 4K UHD (3840 x 2160)

Brightness: 6000 lumens

Light source: Laser

Throw ratio: 0.81 to 0.89 (1.1x motorised zoom)

Lens shift: Vertical ±60%, Horizontal ±23%

Contrast ratio: 3,000,000:1

Input lag: 16.7ms (4K 60Hz), 8.3ms (1080p 120Hz), 4.2ms (1080p 240Hz)

Power consumption: 350W
